Hi! I'm Jesse...

I've always had a BIG love for personal style, the environment, and helping others. And as fate would have it, I've merged these three passions to create a style consulting business that empowers others to embrace who they are, discover their personal style, and start dressing for themselves—while also keeping mother nature in mind.

Thank you for being here! I hope you enjoy what you find.

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, compassion, humour, and style."

- Maya Angelou

Ever since I was four years old, I've been fascinated with dressing up, creating interesting outfits and using style as a way to express myself. A lot of my childhood memories are filled with tickle trunk dress-up parties (until I got too itchy to stand the clothes), Barbie & Ken fashion shows (until my brother ruined everything), and learning how to knit so that my dolls were always looking fresh (until my fingers got tired).

Although I grew up with this nagging need to be liked by others, my personal style was a different story. If a garment or accessory was popular, I rebelled from it and wanted nothing to do with it; except the Adidas Superstar... I needed to have those, so I opted for an orange stripe as an ode to my individuality. I've never wanted to blend in with the crowd, but I didn't necessarily want to stand out either. I just wanted to feel like myself in what I wore.

You know how some people are just born with an innate ability to do something? My 'something' is personal style; whether dressing myself or others–I know how to make you feel like the best version of yourself and express your personality through an outfit.

I've honed my styling abilities and knowledge through working in retail for more than 10 years and soaking up every moment—from receiving and merchandising product, to styling a customer in the fitting room and seeing them through to check out. My visual memory served me well when customers would return and I'd remember what they previously purchased, encouraging them to find items that compliment those pieces in order to make the most out of their wardrobe (and their budget).

When my journey to post-secondary school to study Marketing removed me the fashion world, I quickly found myself longing for a creative outlet to share my outfits. This propelled into launching a blog where I would share daily outfits, tips for expressing your personal style, and eventually—seasonal lookbooks. ClosettCandyy was born in 2010 and I felt right at home.

My outfits and lookbooks started to gain traction and soon people were inquiring about personal styling services, and retail stores were inquiring about consulting services. This parlayed my blog into what was called a "side hustle", as I was already enjoying working at a local Digital Marketing Agency (All Roads Inc.). After four amazing years with that company, we were suddenly closing I was faced with the decision to accept one of the job offers my boss had lined up for me, or pursue my passion for style full-time.

So I took the leap and thus, ClosettCandyy transformed from a blog where I shared my passion for personal style to a Wardrobe Styling & Consulting business, where I offer the services you need to feel confident in your own wardrobe and personal style.

I’m here because personal style is my first language. I express myself authentically through what I wear, and it’s how I help individuals and brands express themselves.
